Background
MCR is a powerful replacement for skin support conductors used in the past.  MCR with Dermalastyl provides substantially the same ingredients as our product for Elastin Infusion Therapy using Iontophoresis except the key active ingredients are at a lesser potency.  There should be a 30 day interval with patients having infusion therapy because the technique adds significantly potent product within a short period of about 40 minutes. Infusion therapy is estimated to replace 2 years of lost elastin each infusion session.  Overuse of infusion therapy risks the patient’s body rejecting the excess creating skin conditions such as blemishes. In other words too much of a good thing is not appropriate with our product. In addition infusion therapy products would typically prohibit the application for body applications due to the significant fee required to cover cost of product. MCR was re-formulated with certain key ingredients at less potency and additional surfactant capability so the basic benefits could be utilized every Microcurrent treatment with ease and confidence anywhere on the body.  MCR is only available from TBI, Inc. or its subsidiaries. 
Active Ingredients

Elastatropin® (Tropoelastin) – is the most advanced skin care ingredient in the world. Tropoelastin was developed as part of a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) competition on wound healing and tissue regeneration to help treat battlefield injuries. Elastatropin?, the laboratory synthesized form of human tropoelastin, is the natural precursor of the human elastin in the skin. Elastatropin helps restore the natural elastin content in skin that is lost throughout the aging process, helping reduce the appearance and onset of wrinkles.

Matrixyl - 3000® is a combination of matrikines including Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide – 7, Matrixyl 3000® promotes collagen production while stimulating fibroblast cells in the skin, enabling them to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Although fibroblasts never completely lose their ability to create more collagen, the levels dwindle with age and the skin dries out and wrinkles.

Argireline® is a unique new peptide, called Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, that both reduces existing facial wrinkles and is effective against the development of new wrinkles. Studies with human volunteers show that argireline is a breakthrough in cosmetic science because of its remarkable speed in anti-wrinkle activity. Argireline® also decreases the depth of facial wrinkles caused by the contraction of muscles from facial expressions, especially near the eyes and on the forehead. Botox® targets the same wrinkles, but Argireline® is safer and less expensive.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a complex carbohydrate that is distributed widely throughout the body in connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. One of the chief components of the Extracellular Matrix, HA contributes significantly to cell proliferation and migration, and is a unique moisturizing agent because of its ability to retain water more effectively than any other natural substance.  Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in the injectable filler, Restylane®. Restylane® is administered by plastic surgeons via transdermal injections. Each injection contains approximately 10mg of HA and costs $300-$500 dollars. The resulting balloon effect requires a refill about every 4 months. One container of Dermalastyl-Bx, the patient take home derivative product, contains 3500mg of HA that is the equivalent of over 350 Restylane® injections. Recent scientific studies have proven that the cumulative effect of regular HA applications is more important to long term skin health than the short term balloon effect.

Proliesl ® consists of a mixture of amino acids with a powerful ability to reduce damage caused by exposure to the sun and environmental insults to the skin. ProliSel contains L-selenomethionine, a highly bioavailable selenium source, as well as amino acids L-Proline and L-Cysteine. Scientific studies have proven that all three of these vital amino acids significantly reduce cell damage and programmed cell death caused by exposure to UV light or Reactive Oxygen Species.

 *Propylene glycol is considered a safe and appropriate ingredient not just for cosmetic products, but also for ingested products like food and pharmaceuticals. It is on the US Food and Drug Administration's list of ingredients which are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and is recognized by the World Health Organization as safe for use.  There have been claims made that propylene glycol is an inappropriate ingredient for cosmetics and foods because it can also be used in products (such as antifreeze) which one would not want to consume. Such observations are well-intended but ultimately not very informative. It is ethylene glycol, for example, which is a more common ingredient in antifreeze and which is, in fact, highly toxic.  The American Society for the Prevent  of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) actually recommends the use of propylene glycol-based antifreeze because it is safer than ethylene glycol should pets accidentally ingest it. Simply because propylene glycol has many different applications does not make all the products which contain it the same. The propylene glycol we use contains no indications of carcinogenicity or chronic exposure effects.
